S1000D User Information is hosted and maintained by M F Solutions. S1000D User Information / M F Solutions are committed to maintaining visitor privacy and safety while using the site and forum. We have created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our commitment to privacy.

This privacy statement covers the S1000D User Information site and forum at

The following policy discloses our information gathering, use and dissemination practices for this site and forum. Please take a moment to review the terms of this privacy statement. Definition of User Types

Visitor. A visitor is a user that wishes to browse this site or public areas of the forum. A visitor may access all public information but will not be able to interact with subscription services. Site Visitor Privacy policy (below) applies.

Subscriber. A subscriber is a user who signs up to use a particular service, such as the forum, newsletter, mailing list, etc. A subscriber will be required to provide a minimum level of contact information appropriate to the service used. Both Site Visitor Privacy and Site Subscriber Privacy policies (below) apply.

Reporting

To report abuse or violation of this privacy policy, please send an email to abuse@MFSolutions.co.uk and attach an unedited copy of the email message or other data that you feel was sent to you in error or without your permission. Include all header information so that M F Solutions can attempt to trace the origin of the message. Include any notes or other information that you feel are pertinent.

Policy Updating

S1000D User Information / M F Solutions reserve the right to make changes to the web site and forum at any time without notice. It is a user's responsibility to revisit this page from time to time to re-read this privacy statement. Any revised terms shall take effect as at the date of posting.

1. Site Visitor Privacy

  1. Personally identifiable information is not acquired directly from our domains for visitors except as noted at 1.f. below.
  2. Site users may wish to contact S1000D User Information / M F Solutions. User information obtained in this way is kept securely for the sole purpose of communication and is not used for any other purpose.
  3. S1000D User Information / M F Solutions make every effort to preserve user privacy. However, we reserve the right to disclose personal / transactional information when required by law where, in good faith, we believe that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on this web site or forum.
  4. S1000D User Information / M F Solutions does not have an exclusive relationship with any of the advertisers or providers of functionality on the web site or forum.
  5. The S1000D User Information web site and forum contain links to other web sites and information providers. S1000D User Information / M F Solutions are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external sources.
  6. Our web servers may collect the domain name or IP address, browser type and referrer information of visitors to our web page(s). This information will not be transferred to any third-party although it may be used to compile demographic aggregations of site visitors. Such aggregated information only may be passed to third parties for the purpose of demonstrating site performance.

2. Site Subscriber Privacy

  1. S1000D User Information / M F Solutions maintains all subscription list data internally. Names, email addresses and other details are never passed to any third party except as described in 1.c. above.
  2. Unless otherwise stated, we collect the email addresses of those who communicate with us via email and information volunteered by users such as, but not limited to, list sign-up information, survey information, and/or site registrations.
  3. S1000D User Information / M F Solutions may collect information to create an aggregate demographic profile of our user base so that we can improve content and services and provide demographic information to potential advertisers. No individual information is provided to any third-party. We may also use this information to customize the content and/or layout of our email messages or pages for each visitor, to notify you about updates to our web site and services, to send you our opt-in e-mail newsletter, to provide you with the products and/or services for which you signed-up or registered and which may include sending service disruption notices or other service or product-related information via email.
  4. User information will be stored in a database on a non-web site, but internet connected server. While we take all reasonable precautions to protect all data, electronically and physically, we will not be held responsible for the results of loss or misuse of data due to criminal activities such as hacking or theft, the failings of third parties such as maintenance contractors, or other losses or outages through acts of nature, failure of external services / service providers or hardware failure.
  5. Email List Information Collection

  6. For each visitor that signs-up for our email list, S1000D User Information / M F Solutions will retain only the information that is requested on the sign-up form.
  7. In our email messages to you which are distributed through this list, we may provide information from third party providers about their products or services. This information is provided 'downstream' only, ie the third party is never given access to email addresses used. Third parties will be provided demographic information only, relating to number of emails sent and regions targeted.
  8. Users following third party links should check the privacy policy of the third party provider.
  9. Use of Web Site Information Collected

  10. We may share collected information with another company in the event that we merge with or are acquired by another company.
  11. Upon request, by email using the subject ‘Personal Data Request’ to webmaster@MFSolutions.co.uk, we will provide you with the information that we maintain about you. For security, such responses will only be sent to the email address in question; third party requests will not be answered.
  12. Postal Address Collection and Use

  13. If you supply us with your postal address on-line you will only receive the information for which you provided us your address. If you supply us with your telephone number, you will only receive telephone contact from us with information regarding your enquiry.
  14. Cookies

  15. We, and some of our partners who provide some of the services and products on our site, may use cookies to record session information, such as sign-in information, record user-specific information on what pages users access or visit, record past activity at a site in order to provide better service when you return to our site and customize web page or email message content based on your browser type or other information.
  16. Ad Servers and Other Partners

  17. To try and bring you offers and information that may be of interest to you, we may have relationships with other companies that we allow to place ads or provide other services or products on our web site, forum or in our e-mail newsletters. As a result of your visit to our site, these companies may collect non-personally-identifiable information such as your domain type, your IP address and clickstream information.
  18. Changes to Privacy Policy

  19. From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in this Privacy Policy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes to this Privacy Policy page to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of our list. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at this page periodically.
  20. Forum Usage

  21. The S1000D User Information forum is hosted and administered by M F Solutions on behalf of the S1000D community. M F Solutions fills the forum roles of webmaster, administrator and moderator. Additionally, members of the S1000D community may act as moderators within their area of specialization.
  22. By registering and accessing our forum you accept and agree to the following terms:
    1. While the administrator and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. You acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrator, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people), nor the owners, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) and hence will not be held liable.
    2. You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. You will not flame, spam or advertise in your posts, IMs, or signature text. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.
    3. You will not attempt to register multiple accounts.
    4. You acknowledge that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.
    5. As a user you agree to any registration / profile information you have entered being stored in the forum database. By its nature, this database is hosted in an internet-enabled location. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent and the data is protected by standard security protocols and strong passwords, the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.
    6. You agree the forum system may use cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information mentioned above; they serve only to improve your viewing experience.
    7. You agree your e-mail address may be used for confirming your registration details and password, for sending service notifications, for sending forum notifications (where optionally subscribed) and for sending new passwords, should you forget your current one. Additionally, where optionally accepted in your profile, you agree other forum members may send you emails.
  23. If you disclose personal or private information on the forum you do so at your risk. This privacy statement cannot / does not cover such disclosure. We urge caution when disclosing any discrete information on the forum.
  24. Unsubscribe from Services

  25. To unsubscribe from an individual service, send an email to admin@S1000DUser.info with the title UNSUBSCRIBE = SERVICE where service is 'NEWSLETTER' or 'FORUM' or 'EMAIL'. To unsubscribe from all services, send email to admin@S1000DUser.info with the title UNSUBSCRIBE = ALL. Note it may take up to 7 days to remove you from services. Once removed, should you wish to re-join a service in the future, you will have to create a new account. Old details (such as Forum User IDs) cannot be reused.
